WASHINGTON... Glen L. Housh, 83, of Washington, passed away at 8:45 p.m. at his home Wednesday, August 5, 2015 surrounded by his family. Glen was born on August 9, 1931 in Sabetha, Kansas to John and Zelma (Marmet) Housh. He married Patricia Hodgkins in Canton on July 1, 1956 and they just celebrated 59 years of marriage last month. Among those surviving are his wife, Pat; three daughters, Carol Trochelman of Washington, Cynthia (David) Pienta of Greencastle, IN and Belinda (David) Nelson of Streamwood; one sister, Wilma Trobaugh of Canton; six loving grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, Carey, Courtney, Jennifer and Brian and three special great granddaughters, Serena, Lorelei and Brianna. Glen was a 1949 graduate of Canton High School. Immediately after graduation, Glen went to work for Caterpillar in Peoria. His work for Caterpillar was interrupted by the Air Force so he could serve during the Korean War, serving most of his time in Iceland before returning home. Glen went back to Caterpillar where he worked for over 44 years and at retirement was working in the Tech Center at Mossville as a Research Machinist. Glen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. He loved taking long walks around Washington, tending to his garden and yard when he could. Glen also enjoyed woodworking and working on cars, but his favorite pastime in recent years was the time he could spend with his grandchildren and great granddaughters. Funeral services for Glen will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Drennan officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington, where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials for Glen be directed to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, American Heart Assn., or American Diabetes Assn.
