Glen E. Faucon age 77 of Milan, Ill. and also of Gulfport, Miss. passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport MS. He was born on November 11, 1934, in Roanoke, Ill. to Arthur and Bernice (Rogers) Faucon. He married his best friend, Patricia A. Oltman in Roanoke on August 1, 1954; she survives. His two daughters: Lorie (Todd) Joos of Cazenovia and Jan (Stan) Grebner of Washburn and four grandchildren: John (Jen) Renken, Joseph (Dee) Renken, Carin (Bret) Vickrey and Meghan Grebner; and ten of the greatest joys of his life, his great-grandchildren also survive. Also surviving are his brother Arthur (Jane) Faucon of Roanoke, and two sisters Mary (Lyle) Nannen of Glasford and Patricia (Lawrence) Geltmaker of Trivoli. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, his son Philip Faucon, and special sister Myrtle Lee Losher. Glen retired from Martin Equipment of Goodfield, Ill. after 50 years of serving the company in many capacities. Working for the Martin family was one of the greatest pleasures in his life along with his love of John Deere?s, whether they were green or yellow. Glen had such joy in his family, fishing (oh, he had fish stories!), his grand/great grandchildren, and never hesitated to head out and pick them up for the weekend. They share numerous special moments and stories with grandpa that will never be forgotten. Glen always carried a quarter in his pocket to entertain kids any and everywhere. Glen and Pat loved to travel everywhere, from taking his granddaughters to Germany, joining Stan and Jan in Ireland and Hawaii, going to Alaska; and a special trip to Prince Edward Island so Meghan could see the birth place of Lucy Maude Montgomery. They loved traveling seeing any place they could in his RV. After retirement, Glen enjoyed his second career as head driver for his son-in-law Stan during harvest. A job that both he and Stan enjoyed immensely. A Celebration of Glen?s life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in 2815 W 3rd St. Coal Valley, IL on Saturday February 4, 2012 with visitation from 9 am until 10 am and service at 10 am. Additional visitation will be Saturday afternoon Feb. 4, 2012 from 3pm until 5pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to your local blood bank; it was the gift of blood that allowed Glen to remain with his family for 13 wonderful months. If you are unable to donate the gift of blood, monetary donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley IL, the Leukemia Society, Cystic Fibrosis in honor of his great-granddaughter Dalaney or the Midwest Food Bank - http://www.midwestfoodbank.org/make-a-difference/donate-funds . The family wishes to thank the loving care provided by Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, in particular Dr. Pamela Tuli and her staff; Illinois Cancer Center in Peoria, and also Dr. Apichart Radee and his staff.
