Gerald F. Ashley

Gerald F. Ashley age 90 of East Peoria, Illinois passed away at 2:40pm Sunday Dec. 9, 2012 at Washington Christian Village. He was born Dec. 30, 1921 in Peoria, IL., to Earl and Agnes (Ziegenbein) Ashley. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Mae Underhill on June 13, 1942 in Palmyra MO., and she survives. Surviving is one daughter, Janice (Jay) Hulick of E. Peoria and grandchildren, Patty Fleming, Debbie (Jim) McCormack, Lisa Headley, Steven Headley, Greg (Kim) Timerman, nine great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sharon Ashley, two brothers and two sisters. Gerald was a WWII Army Veteran, and worked his whole life as a Sign and Pictorial Painter retiring in 1984. Member of the International Brotherhood Painters and Allied Trades Local #157. He enjoyed fishing and making fishing lures and was of the Christian faith who loved his family. Funeral Services will be at 2:00pm Thursday Dec. 13, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Rev. Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory gardens in Peoria.
