George F. Guth

George F. Guth age 89 of E. Peoria, Illinois passed away at 1:55pm Wednesday Nov. 13, 2013 at his son?s residence in Metamora. He was born July 3, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio to Joseph L. and Loretta C. (Minert) Guth Sr.. He married Dorris V. Cottle on July 25, 1945 in Peoria and she died Jan. 25, 2007. Surviving are two sons Michael (Linda) Guth of Metamora, Gregory (Christy) Guth of Peoria Heights; one daughter Susan Guth of Metamora and 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving two brothers Thomas (Joyce) Guth of Reynoldsburg Ohio, Paul Guth of Columbus, Ohio and two sisters Mary Jaquet and Susie McGovern both of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his son Tony Guth and two brothers. George was a WWII Navy Veteran and was a supervisor at Caterpillar for 31 years retiring in 1977. Member of VFW Local 2078 in E.
