Frieda Elizabeth Fauber

January 3, 1929 — December 19, 2020

Frieda Elizabeth Fauber, 91, of Metamora, IL was called home to be with Jesus on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Snyder Village in Metamora surrounded by her family. She was born on January 3, 1929 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Gottlob and Augusta (Moeri) Aupperle. She married Lowell W. Fauber on January 6, 1952 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria. He passed away on November 2, 2019.

Surviving are her children, Norman (Sharon) Fauber of East Peoria, Jean (Stan) Ogden of Dunlap, and Joyce (Kenneth) Poignant of Lacon; nine grandchildren, Crystal (Tom) Joos, Karen (Scott) Sorrows, Eric (Erica) Ogden, Heather (Tyler) Brinkman, Ben (Julie) Fauber, Rachel (Nathan) Burkman, Becky Schlosser, and Sarah and Kenny Jr. Poignant; twelve great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Aupperle, cousin, Doris Gray; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, five brothers, and one great-granddaughter.

Frieda attended and graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed, and married, as well as a Sunday School teacher for many years. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked many years alongside her husband in owning and operating Fauber's Produce in East Peoria. Frieda enjoyed visiting with her many customers through the years at the family produce stand. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and working in her vegetable garden, as she would can and freeze fruits and vegetables to be served to family and friends throughout the year.

Frieda and her husband, Lowell, enjoyed making puzzles in the winter months. She spent many cold evenings knitting afghans to share with her children and grandchildren. Family and friends will remember Frieda for the many homemade meals served in the farmhouse kitchen. Meals were topped off with a piece of Frieda's homemade pie and served with ice cream. Frieda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith was her first priority and the source of her strength throughout her life.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Snyder Village for their kindness and loving care shown to Frieda.
