Franklin L. Feazel age 88 of Washburn, Illinois passed away Sunday Sept. 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born Sept. 19, 1924 in Linn Township, Woodford County Illinois, to Elmer and Mae (Laible) Feazel. He married Nancy M. Downey on Nov. 25, 1950 in Washburn, IL., she passed away on Oct. 13, 1994. Surviving are his children, Laura Emhoff of Peoria, Myra (Carter) Hare, Melvin (Susann) Feazel, Don (Judy) Feazel all of Washburn, L. Scott Feazel of Cortland, IL., Neal (Rhonda) Feazel of Brighton, IL., and a nephew who Franklin raised since 1972 Jesse (Kim) Erkman of Washburn. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Franklin Jr. and Gordon; one grandson Cory Feazel and a sister Elizabeth Iunker. Franklin was a Korean War Army Veteran and was life long farmer. Past Commander of American Legion Post #661. He was a handyman who could make and fix anything; He always said " If its difficult we do it right away and the impossible takes a little longer". He loved to go to rodeos. Farming was his life and in the early days Franklin and his father would farm with horses. He was very proud of the Feazel Farm that was established in 1876. Funeral Services will be at 11:00am Wednesday Sept. 26, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Rev. Daryle Stonier officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5pm until 7pm and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Linn Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washburn where military rights will accorded by his legion post. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to American Legion Post #661 and any Veteran Organization of the donors choice. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com
