Frances Louise Garber, 95, of Metamora, IL, formerly of Spring Bay, IL, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Carle Health-Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL.
She was born on May 5, 1929, in Peoria, IL, to Christopher B. and Louise C. (Rhode) Wagner. She married Oliver E. "Junior" Garber on July 17, 1948 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on October 17, 2021.
Surviving are her son, Dr. Oliver E. "Tripp" (Diane) Garber III of Kailua Kona, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother.
Frances along with her husband, Junior, owned and operated Garber's Service Station in Bayview Gardens. Prior to that they both were engaged in grain farming on a relative's farm in the Spring Bay area. She was a member of RiversEdge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay, IL and also a member of the Spring Bay Ladies Auxiliary Legion. Frances was a devoted, loving wife and mother and a caring, supportive friend.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 15, 2025 in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay, IL with Pastor Gary Salm officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Snyder Village Residents in Need Fund, 1200 East Partridge Street, Metamora, IL 61548. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
