Frances May (Kinzinger) Volk, 89, of Washington, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Mason White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the funeral home. There will be an additional visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, immediately following the service.
Born on December 10, 1932, Frances lived in Washington all her life. She married Cletus H. Volk, from Minonk, on July 20, 1960. Together, they were raising three children, Kathleen, Daniel and Janet. On December 12, 1973, Cletus passed away suddenly, leaving Frances to raise the three children by herself. She was rightfully proud of not only raising the three, but getting each through college.
Frances is survived by her brother, Russell Kinzinger and her three children and their families; Kathleen (Volk) Gregory, her daughter, Diana (Joe Kelly) Gregory and two great grandchildren, with a third on the way; Daniel (Laura) Volk and his family; Janet (Michael Kuehn) Volk and their children. She also had many nieces and nephews.
During Frances's life, she worked at the Danforth Bank, Washington Township (36 years) and Central Grade School (25 years). In her "spare time", she was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 4H leader and a supporter of Washington Grade School, Washington High School and Central Grade School sports. She also enjoyed going to Cub's games with friends and family.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Frances's memory to Pets for Seniors or Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, IL.
