Floretta C. Blachek

Floretta C. Blachek, 99, of Metamora, IL passed away peacefully at home at 8:24 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was born on November 3, 1916 in Scranton, PA to Harold E. and Clara Mae (Brewer) Capwell. She married Jacob R. Blachek on November 20, 1937 in Glenburn, PA. He passed away on February 2, 2010. Surviving are her children Shirley (Thomas) Storm of Machesney Park, IL and Roger Blachek of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren Amy (Steve) Kling of Loves Parks, IL and Tim (Kathleen) Storm of Beloit, WI; great-grandchildren Jacob, Brant, and Emily Kling and Shannon and Trevor Storm, and August Braatz. Floretta was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother. Floretta was a member of Christian Union Church, Metamora and the church's Philethea group. The family thanks her many friends who stopped to see her and a special thanks to Darlene (Greg) Seckler for being her caregiver for the last six years. A memorial service for Floretta will be held at a later date at the Metamora Christian Union Church. Cremation rites have been accorded.
