Flora E. Finley

WASHINGTON...Flora Finley, 94, of Washington passed away at 8:53 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Il. She was born July 21, 1918 in Warrensburg, IL to John and Gertrude Eaton Crossman. She married Melvin Finley on Oct. 3, 1948 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2000. She was also preceded in death by two infant daughters and three sisters. Flora is survived by her children Mark (Susan)Finley of New Bern, NC and Mary Finley (Harry Threlkeld) of Carbondale, IL; grandchildren Jennifer (Allan) Russell of McDonough, GA, Betsy Finley (Daniel Schrass) of Rockville, MD, Kate Finley of New York, NY, and Erin Finley of New Bern; and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. Funeral services for Flora will be held on Friday, October12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Crossroads United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Goodell officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington. Visitation for Flora will be on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Crossroads United Methodist Church or to the charity of one's choice.
