Fannie L. McCoy, 92, of Washington passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Morningside of Washington. Fannie was born on October 19, 1924, in Peoria, the daughter of Earl E. and Grace L. Edwards Morrisson. She married Deane P. McCoy on October 3, 1943, in Peoria and he passed away on July 18, 1978. Also preceding her in death was one brother, Edgar Morrisson. Surviving are her children Terry (Deb) McCoy of Cleveland, TN; Peggy (Steve) Rollins of Vacaville, CA; and Laura (Randy) Welch of Springfield, IL. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, two brothers Harold Morrisson of Belleville, IL and Larry Morrison of Sun Valley, CA. Fannie was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader in Washington for several years. She was a volunteer at Unity Point Health Methodist-Peoria, Volunteer driver for cancer patients in the Washington area and volunteered with the Central Illinois Riding Therapy. Fannie was also active with the Washington Historical Society. She was also a member of Daughters of the Nile Temple 36 in Peoria, Tazewell County Home Extension since 1949 and active volunteer with the Washington Senior Citizens Center. She was also a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington holding various positions at the Church. She was presented the Washingtonian Award for Community Service in 1988. Fannie enjoyed many things in life including helping others, a love of animals and collecting dolls, but especially enjoyed her family and friends. Services for Fannie will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. Pastor Sarah Wanck will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Crossroads Church. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to the Washington Historical Society or a charity of their choice.
