F. Wayne Webb, Jr., 82, of Lowpoint, IL passed away Monday morning, May 25, 2015 at his home. He was born on January 7, 1933 in Peoria, IL to Frederick Wayne and Freida Mae (Voight) Webb. He married Joan E. Bennington on June 7, 1964 in Metamora, IL. She survives. Also surviving are four sons Daniel (Dawn) Webb of Mahomet, IL, Darrin (Luanne) Webb of Topeka, KS, Markus (Amy) Webb of Mahomet, IL and Jerrod Webb of Peoria, IL; five grandchildren Hope, Michael, Jason, Sarah and Jennifer Webb of Mahomet, IL; sister Jayne Forbis of Kewanee; brother-in-law Dale (Pauline) Bennington of Princeville; and sister-in-law Carol (Jeff) Knight of Mahomet, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Wayne was a U.S. Army veteran of the 44th Infantry Division serving in Korea and Japan. He was also a member of the 289th Army Band. He enjoyed working with the American Legion Post 661 in Washburn and the local Boy Scout troop. He was a member of the Washburn United Methodist Church. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Bradley University in 1958 and his M.S. in School Psychology/Special Education from Illinois State University in 1964. He worked as a teacher and school psychologist for over 40 years, first as a teacher at Roosevelt Junior High School, Peoria Public School District 150. Wayne was an intern and school psychologist at Valley View District #96 in Romeoville, IL. He worked as a psychologist/director for the Special Education Association for Woodford County and Mackinaw Valley Special Education Association in Eureka, IL from 1966 until 1970. He was the first director and school psychologist for Woodford County?s Special Education programs. He then went on to work as the supervising psychologist for the Tri-County Special Education and Bloomington Public Schools. Lastly, he worked at Livingston County Special Services Unit as an IMEAP Technician. After retirement he worked part-time with the East Peoria Psychological Association. Wayne enjoyed HAM radio, computers, hunting, and had a love for music. He loved family activities and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with cremation rites following. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10:30 am at Washburn United Methodist Church with Reverend Rick Kerr officiating with burial of ashes following held in Bethel Cemetery, Lowpoint, IL where military rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Unity Point Hospice, Washburn United Methodist Church, or Washburn American Legion Post 661. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
