Evert R. Look

Evert R. Look, 86, of Washington passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018, at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1931 in Limestone Twp., Peoria County, IL the son of the late Evert and Catherine Johnson Look. He married Fannie L. Sassman on September 28, 1963 in Bartonville, IL.

Surviving are his wife and their children Lorna Esquivel of Gainesville, GA, James (Lisa) Look of Pekin, Johnnie Look and Christina Look both of Washington. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and three brothers Howard Look of Peoria, Russell Look of Mapleton and David Look of Winchester, VA., along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. One infant sister Catherine Rose Look preceded him in death.

Evert was a 1949 graduate of Manual High School in Peoria. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the Army, he began working at Caterpillar Tractor Co in 1953 and retired in 1993.

He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, but was known to watch an occasional St. Cardinal's baseball game. Evert enjoyed many things, especially spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2018, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm also at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville.
