Evelyn M. Schabinger, 90, of Spring Bay, passed away at 8:50PM, Friday September 27, 2013 at the OSF Richard L. Owen Hospice Home in Peoria. Evelyn was born on October 3, 1922 in Spring Bay, the daughter of Raymond and Ida (Eichorn) Zilch. She married Wilfred Schabinger on April 22, 1941 in Kahoka, MO. Surviving Evelyn is her husband, three children Sandra (Donald) Lugeanbeal of East Peoria; Daryl Schabinger of Chicago; and Ron Schabinger of Tampa, FL. Also surviving are two grandchildren Jeff Lugeanbeal of Pekin and Jill (Ron) Wilson of Enterprise, AL; five great grandchildren Julia and Lauren Lugeanbeal, Ryan, Jenna, and Jessica Wilson. Further surviving are two sisters Mary Lou (Lewis) Harman of Glasford and Katherine (Perry-deceased) Curless of Spring Bay as well as several nieces and nephews. Her parents, and one sister Eileen (Ernest-deceased) Berry preceded her in death. Evelyn was a life long member of RiversEdge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay, where her great grandmother donated the church property. She was a homemaker who loved her family very much and enjoyed gardening, canning and freezing many fruits and vegetable through the years. Services are scheduled for 11:30AM Wednesday, October 2nd at RiversEdge United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Joe Richard officiating. Visitation will be one-hour prior to her services. Burial will follow in Spring Bay Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be given to her church. The family wishes to thank the staff at Fresenius Medical Dialysis Center, Dialysis Dept. at Morton Terrace, and the wonderful staff at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
