WASHINGTON-Evelyn A. Norbom, 91, of Washington passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, at Washington Christian Village.
She was born on July 10, 1926, in Peoria, daughter of Harry and Cora Clark Hudson. She married Donald E. Norbom on June 8, 1952 in Hanna City. He passed away on March 13, 1993. She was also preceded in death by one sister Pauline McDonald.
Surviving are three sons Gary (Mindy) Norbom of Dunlap, Steven Norbom and Scott Norbom both of Washington. Also surviving are five grandchildren Carrie (Mark) Geason, Craig Norbom, Nicholas Norbom, Michelle Norbom-Downing, Sam Norbom; two step grandsons Chris (Elizabeth) Leman and Chad Leman along with 7 great grandchildren.
In her early years, she worked for International Harvester where she met Don. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years.
She and Don enjoyed traveling the United States and abroad, after the passing of Don, she and her sister Polly traveled extensively throughout the United States together.
Services are scheduled for 10:00am, Friday, December 15, 2017, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Pastor John N. Bates and Pastor Dick Hanson will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Further visitation will be one-half hour prior to her service at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Building Fund.
