WASHINGTON...Evelyn M. King, 82, of Washington, passed away at 5:07 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Morton Terrace Care Center in Morton. Evey was born on August 28, 1930 in Peoria to Otto and Mayme Brecklin. Evey married Wally King on August 13, 1950 in Washington. Wally survives. Also surviving are three children, Pam (Nick) Ripley, Dave (Char) King and Lori (the late Paul) Tigue, all of Washington; two brothers, Richard Brecklin of Peoria and Clarence "Mickey" Brecklin of Washington; one sister, Donna Hoover of Washington; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Levi) Banks, Gavin (Melissa) Ripley, Rachel (Jeremy) McMenimen, Ryan (Bonnie Maloney) King, Rachel (Chad) Kuehnl, Kristin (Christopher) Todd, Brian (Hailey Rakestraw) Tigue and Kiley Tigue and six great grandchildren, Aletheia, Reagan, Emily, Mason, Jacob and Brooklynn. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Jack Brecklin and three sisters, Elizabeth Brecklin, Ruth Wyss and Helen Wiese. For more than 43 years Evey was bookkeeper for Wally King Construction in Washington. Evey was an active member of St. Mark?s Lutheran Church where she had served on church council. Her life revolved around her family, loving every minute she could share with her children and grandchildren. Evey bowled for many years on the Tuesday night Plazette?s League in Washington, was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan and always enjoyed a good game of blackjack. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the kind staff that helped Evey during the past 18 months at Morton Terrace, they will always be rememberd. Funeral services for Evey will be on Friday, September 28, 2012 at St. Mark?s Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation for Evey will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home and on Friday from 10 to 10:45 at the church. Memorials may be made to either St. Mark?s Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer?s Association.
