Evelyn R. Hines, 94, of Washington passed away at 8:30 am on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. She was born on September 12, 1920 in Xenia, IL the daughter of the late James L. and Emma West Reynolds. She married William T. Hines on February 20, 1943 in Chicago. He passed away on February 24, 2000. Two sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons John (Sue) Hines of Irvine, CA and James (Caitlin) Hines of New Hope, PA. Also surviving are four grandchildren Leah (Brian) Lorton, Andrew, Christina and Cody Hines; one great-grandson Liam; and one brother Ron (Mary) Reynolds of Chandler, AZ. She was a 1938 graduate of Maroa High School. While in high school she was the Illinois type-writing champion. She was a congressional secretary for Donald Rumsfeld and Phil Crane for several years in Chicago. She was an accomplished cook and baked more pies, cakes, and rolls over her lifetime than could be counted. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
