Evelyn M. Frantz

Evelyn M. Frantz, 91, of Metamora, IL, formerly of Peoria, IL passed away at her home on Friday, April 1, 2016. She was born on August 20, 1924 in Metamora to John and Kathryn (Swing) Schumacher. She married Lawrence A. "Larry" Frantz on January 25, 1947. He passed away on October 12, 1999. Surviving are one son Dennis Frantz of Yorkville, IL; four grandchildren Scott Frantz of Montgomery, IL, Jennifer Frantz of Yorkville, Erik (Shannon) Frantz of Peoria, and Nicholis (Brittany) Frantz of Montgomery; four great-grandchildren Ethan, Cole, Ashton, and Reid; and siblings Lloyd Schumacher of Washington, IL, Dale Schumacher of Metamora, Phyllis Kaufman of Cissna Park, IL, and Shirley Leuthold of Peoria. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her oldest son Larry Thomas "Tom" Frantz, her parents, three brothers Stanley, Russell, and John William "Bill" Schumacher, two sisters Lorene Stoller and infant Virginia, nephews Gene and Ted Schumacher, and niece Virginia "Ginny" Schumacher. Evelyn graduated from Metamora High School and then attended Crescent Hall Business School. She was then employed at Jefferson Bank until after her marriage. She later worked in the office at Bergner's Department Store for 8 years and then at Madison Park Bank for 22 years prior to retiring. She was a member of Metamora Christian Union Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 10:00 am at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Mapleton.
