Esther J. Schaidle

Esther J. Schaidle, 98, of Metamora, IL passed away at 6:55 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria surrounded by her family. She was born on October 28, 1919 in Partridge Township, Woodford County, IL to Albert and Mary (Kiesewetter) Adams. She married Ernest A. Schaidle on May 2, 1942 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Metamora. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2008. She was also preceded in death by one infant son, one sister, Amelia Noe; and one brother, Joseph Adams.

Surviving are her children Charles (Carlotta), Kenneth (Catherine), Mary Ellen (Stephen) Alig, Dale (Susan), Teresa (Bernard) Koch, and Anita (John) Cummings all of Metamora, William (Jo-Ann) of Simpsonville, SC, Joyce (Kendall) Scheer of Troy, MI, James (Tamara) and Daniel (Catharine) both of Peoria, and Elaine (Alex) Lagoda of East Peoria; twenty-eight grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; sister Lillian Grebner; sister-in-law Shirley Adams; and brothers Norbert Adams, Carl (Mary) Adams and William (Dorothy) Adams all of Metamora, and Raymond (Marilyn) Adams of Indianapolis, IN.

Esther was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Ladies Society. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and quilting.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 3:30 pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with visitation to follow from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church or St. Mary's School in Metamora.
