Emil “Jake” Jacobsen, 96, of East Peoria, IL passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his residence.

He was born on November 23, 1929, in Peoria the son of Emil and Aileen Neff Jacobsen, Sr. He married Shirley Binegar on September 27, 1952.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters Jan (Steve) Masters and Kathy (Doug) Carroll; one son Jerry (Debbie) Jacobsen. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren; one brother Donald Jacobsen along with several nieces and nephews. His parents, one brother Jim, one son Keith and one great grandson, Levi all preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Sunrise Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in East Peoria. Emil worked for the United States Postal Service for many years before retiring. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed activities like fishing, airplanes, and trains.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall in East Peoria, Illinois. His family invites you to share your favorite stories and memories of Emil to honor his memory. Memorials may be given to Alzeimer's Association or to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4101 E Washington Street, East Peoria, IL 61611.
