Elone R. Hill

Elone R. Hill, 66, of East Peoria, IL passed away at 3:34 pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Unity Point Health-Proctor in Peoria. She was born on February 19, 1952 in Peoria, IL to Ernest and Eileen (Zilch) Berry. She married Ronald Hill in 1973 in Peoria, IL. He passed away in 2006.

Surviving are her two daughters Heather Hill and Hollie Hill both of East Peoria; Sydney (Jay) McDaniels of Pekin and their children Jaymie and Jay II whom she thought of as her own daughter; sister Evonne Cowling of Spring Bay; brother-in-law Bill Hill of Glasford, IL; and three grandogs Emmy, Annie, and Loki. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Andrea Hill.

Elone loved to send greeting cards to friends and family on holidays and other special occasions. She always enjoyed visiting with the grandogs and giving them plenty of treats. Elone was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 1115 and the Glasford Red Hat Society. She was a member of Kingston Mines United Methodist Church where she served as organist for 25 years. She retired in 2013. Elone was a musician who played the organ for many church services.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in downtown Peoria, IL with Reverend Tim Ozment officiating. Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel in Germantown Hills. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Kingston Mines United Methodist Church, Third and Jefferson Streets, Kingston Mines, IL 61539 or Spring Bay Fire Department, 407 Caroline, Spring Bay, IL 61611.
