Elnora L. Rekart age 84 of Bay View Gardens, Illinois passed away at 1:35am Sunday Dec. 22, 2013 at her residence. She was born March 10, 1929 in Gillespie, Illinois to Elvin and Minnie (Slover) Sawyer. She married Edward D. Rekart on June 20, 1948 in Litchfield, IL. and he passed away on Feb. 21, 2002. Surviving are her children, Dennis (Teresa) Rekart of Lincoln, IL. Lenora "Dee" (Michael) Baker and Karen (Tom) Stewart both of E. Peoria. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a sister Ruth Scheiter of Peoria. A brother Robert Sawyer preceded her in death. Elnora enjoyed cleaning, going shopping, loved her grandbabies and raising them and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. She attended Dayspring United Methodist Church in E. Peoria. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Saturday Dec. 28, 2013 at Dayspring United Methodist Church in E. Peoria with Pastor Gary Billiot officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Friday at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel and also one hour prior to services at church. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery.
