Ellis W. Gingrich

Ellis W. Gingrich, age 71, of Eureka, IL passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at his home. I was born on November 3, 1946 to Virgil and Wilda (Garber) Gingrich of Roanoke, IL. I married Margaret Miller of Sarasota, FL in 1968 and we had two children; daughter, Nicole (Jeff Jones) of Colorado Springs, CO and they are the parents of three boys and one girl, and son, Eric (Esther) of Cerulean, KY and they are the parents of six girls and one boy. On April 20, 2008 I married Greta Anne Bachmann of Washington, IL.

I was the oldest of six children: brother, Roger (Patty) of Barrington, NH, sister, Jean (Leon) Stutzman of Kalona, IA, sister, Joyce (Bob) Zehr of Eureka, IL, sister, Beth (the late Bruce) Frank of Cobden, IL, and brother, Ross (Nancy) Gingrich of Roanoke, IL.

If I knew you through any of these organizations, I am glad we met: Metamora Mennonite Church (Lifetime Member), Roanoke-Benson Class of 1964, Caterpillar (38 years), Sarasota Memorial Hospital (1 W service), Florida Scuba Diving Association, Roanoke Recreation Association (Little League, Biddy Basketball and Soccer), 4 & 9 Mile Steamboat Races, Minier Skydiving Club, Roanoke-Benson School District 60 Sports, IHSA Boys State Basketball Tournament, Monticello Sail Plane Club, Eureka Et Cetera Thrift Shop, Bachman Reunion, Maple Lawn Cottages, and Illinois Cancer Care.

A Remembrance Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Metamora Mennonite Church with Roger Gingrich officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Metamora Mennonite Church Kitchen Fund.
