Elizabeth "Betty" Marie Wiechman

Elizabeth Marie "Betty" Wiechman, 83, of Metamora, IL passed away at 5:35 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. She was born on March 8, 1934 in Peru, IL to Joseph and Matilda (Zimmerman) Lavens. She married Donald F. Wiechman on September 11, 1955 in Peru, IL. He passed away on April 30, 2009.

Surviving are children Susan (Eric) Tondi of Standard, IL, Janet (Dallas) Rooney of Bad Axe, MI, Dean (Maureen) Wiechman of Washington, IL, and Glenn (Sharon) Wiechman of Elmhurst, IL; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister JoAnn (Dave) Brooks of Peoria, IL; and sister-in-law Kathleen (Don) Thorp of Carol Stream, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dale, and one brother.

Betty was the bookkeeper for St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington for eight years, retiring in 2004. She was an artist and enjoyed painting, quilting, sewing, needlework, gardening, camping, dancing, country music, and collecting memorabilia cows. Betty was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was involved with many church activities. She was a loving mother and grandmother who was all about her family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington with Reverend John Bates and Reverend Richard Hanson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also one hour prior to her service on Friday at the church. Cremation rites will be accorded following her service.
