Elizabeth "Libby" Bradle

WASHINGTON-Elizabeth C. "Libby" Bradle, 94, of Washington, IL, departed to her heavenly home at 11:31pm, Saturday July 30th, 2016 at her residence. Libby was born in Washington on January 5, 1922, the daughter of Christian W. and Josephine Strubhar Imhoff. Libby married Gilbert M. (Gib) Bradle on April 16, 1944. Libby and Gib had three children: Carol (Jack) Pudik of Washington, IL; Nancy (Jerry) Johnson of Clinton, IL; and Gilbert Stanley (Sally) Bradle of Washington, IL. Libby was also blessed with seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Gib preceded Libby in death on December 29, 1965. Libby was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Carroll, Donald and Christian II, three sisters: Dorothy Carlson, Catherine LaSalle and Gladys Weisert, and a great-granddaughter: Elizabeth Othelia Pudik. Libby graduated from Washington Community High School in 1940 and attended Brown's Business College. Libby was employed as a secretary at Washington Community High School and retired after 23 years. After retirement, Libby enjoyed volunteer work at the Church Mouse store in Peoria, the Lutheran Home and the Lakeview Museum. Libby was raised in the Mennonite church but joined St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington, Illinois, in 1944. Libby served on church committees, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and attended the Tuesday morning bible study. Libby enjoyed gardening, sewing, needle point, reading, pinochle, bridge, travel, Red Hat Society, rooting for the Cubs and most of all, spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Friday, August 5, 2016, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, in Washington. Pastor Dick Hanson and Pastor Youngshim Pitcher will officiate. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Washington. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, Illinois, will be handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church Parish Nurse Program.
