Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Kapraun

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Kapraun, 83, of Metamora, IL passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria, IL. She was born on August 6, 1932 in Metamora to Joseph C. and Theresa M. (Schaub) Alig. She married George J. Kapraun on July 25, 1953. He preceded her in death. Surviving are her four daughters Theresa Dutton, Linda Fehl, Denise (Rob) Doyle, and Amy Berkhahn all of Peoria; two sons Joe (Lisa) Kapraun and Greg (Vicki) Kapraun both of Metamora; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four sisters Rose Mary Taylor of Rushville and Carina (Earl) Stotler, Josephine (Bill) Trotter, and Joanne (Louie) Turner all of Metamora. She was preceded in death by daughter Betsy Kapraun Tinsley, brother Jake Alig, and sister Rita Kapraun. Betty worked at Wernsman's Restaurant in Germantown Hills for many years and then worked in the cafeteria at Metamora High School. After retiring, George and Betty enjoyed driving their motorhome to Mission Bell Resort in Texas and staying there for the winter months. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Metamora. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Peoria Heights with Monsignor Jason Gray and Father Neri Greskoviak officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Metamora.
