Eldon L. Lofquist, 75, passed away at 7:39 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at Briarcliff Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, IN. He was born on March 8, 1948, to Byron and Gladys Lofquist. Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law Gwendolyn and Lloyd Roberts of Southern Illinois, and 2 nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eldon graduated from East Peoria High School, attended Bradley University, received an A.S. from Fellowship Baptist College, East Peoria, in Missiology, and BS Degrees in Mechanical and Welding Engineering from LeTourneau College, Longview, TX, During his college years, he won a Newsweek National Sweepstakes Contest. This included an all-expense-paid trip to Germany for 2 plus a new car. He worked in Welding Engineering for several years in Indianapolis. Spending some time in Brazil doing mission work, Eldon enjoyed sharing his faith with others, serving in church work, various ministries and pulpit supply for many years. A private burial will be held at Fondulac Cemetery, in East Peoria, IL.
