Edward W Kern

Edward Kern, 78, of Metamora passed away at 11:20pm on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Heritage Health in Dwight, IL. He was born on January 23, 1936 in Worth Twp. the son of Clarence and Anna Serichs Kern. Surviving are one son Steve (Jill) Kern of Campus, IL; two grandchildren Troy Kern and Angeleena Kern. Also surviving are two brothers Clarence Kern of Florida, and Albert (Janet) Kern of Rome, IL; three sisters Martha Elliciot, Dorothy Reinke and Shirley Woodward all of Florida. He worked in construction for many years retiring in several years ago. Ed enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, woodcarving, rebuilding tractors, going to auctions and an occasional game of poker. All his family and close friends will dearly miss him. Cremation rites have been accorded. A time to celebrate Ed?s life will be on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home in Germantown Hills from 2pm until 4pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to a charity of the donor?s choice.
