Edna M. Barnes-Springer

Edna Barnes-Springer of Chillicothe, formerly of Metamora, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 6:30 pm at Heritage Manor Chillicothe. She was born to John and Carry (Renken) Hinck on January 15, 1921 in Washburn, IL. She married John Barnes in 1955 in Washburn. He died in 1969. She then married Emanual "Manny" Springer in 1979 in Metamora. He died in 1993. Surviving are nephew Wesley "Bud" (Carmen) Hinck of Washburn; Denny L. Herron of Edwards; Rany Herron of LaRose; and two stepsons Eugene Springer of Metamora and Paul Springer of Louisiana. She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one step-son Duane Springer. Edna retired from Hallmark in Metamora as the traffic manager after working 40 years. Prior to that Edna was employed at Methodist Hospital. Edna was a loving wife, and a selfless and giving person. She was a faithful Christian all her life and attended Metamora Christian Union Church. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Salm officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after services with burial of ashes at a later date at Lutheran Cemetery, Washburn.
