Gabby was born on May 16, 1925 in Monmouth, Illinois to Eugene and Alys Gabby Marsh. He married Marie Blumenshine in Washington on July 19, 1949. Marie survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Pam (Rick) Everetts of Washington; two granddaughters, Janelle (Todd) Perry of Goodfield and Jill (Chad) Nelson of East Peoria and six great grandchildren, Anna, Andrew and Adam Perry and Ella, Grace and Bryce Nelson. He was preceded in death by one brother, Reverend Hugh Marsh. Gabby was retired from Caterpillar where he had worked for more than 35 years in tool design at facilities in East Peoria and Mossville. He had served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. Gabby had been an active member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington where he had been over the years a head usher, sang in the choir and also had served as a counter and treasurer. He also had been a member of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class at church and was the chairman of the building committee for the new addition that was completed several years ago.
