Doyle H. Williams

August 15, 1945 — April 11, 2021

Doyle Henry Williams, 75, of Peoria, IL, passed away at 3:40 pm on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at his residence.

He was born on August 15, 1945, in Council Bluffs, IA, to Willie and Alice Carol (Stewart) Williams.  He married Gwen E. Maple on September 24, 1988, in Las Vegas, NV.

Surviving are his wife, Gwen of Peoria; son, John (Christy) Williams of Bartonville, IL; daughter, Joey Nicole Williams of Chicago; five grandchildren, Madison, Brody, Brayden, McKenna, and Bryson; brother, Gordon Williams of Riverside, CA; and sister, Pauline Ballard of New Burn, TN.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Doyle was an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran.  He worked as a facilities manager for Caterpillar Tractor Company for several years.  He was a referee for local high school basketball and later was an umpire for fast pitch and slow pitch softball in the Peoria area. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be Sunday April 18, 2021, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Memorial Christian Church, 2507 West Newman Parkway. A memorial service will be 11:00 am Monday, April 19, 2021 also at the church.  Pastor April McClure Stewart will officiate.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Memorial Christian Church or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.  To share a memory or to leave a condolence for his family, please visit www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
