WASHINGTON... Dorothy G. Volk, 93, of Washington, passed away at 2:30 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015 at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Dorothy was born on September 3, 1922 in Olney, Illinois to Joseph and Mary (Zwilling) Kapper. On September 25, 1954 she married Anton Volk in Olney. Andy passed away on June 3 ,2010. Among those surviving are two daughters, Karen Jatkowski of Fisher, Indiana and Phyllis (Michael) Austin of Morton; one son, Kenneth (Monica) Volk of Tremont; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Volk of Omaha, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and twin great-grandsons. Dorothy was also preceded in death by one son, Duane who died in 2004 and eight brothers and sisters. Dorothy's life centered on her church and her family. She was blessed with over 55 years as a wife to Andy and devoted her time to raising their children and spending time with the grandchildren whenever she could. Dorothy was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Washington where she also had been involved with the Quilting Club and the Womens Guild of the church. A mass for Dorothy will be celebrated on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the church with Father Stephen Willard officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens south of Washington. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home and from 9 to 9:45 at the church on Monday. A rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials for Dorothy may be directed to either her church or the charity of the donors choice.
