Dorothy M. Morarity

Dorothy M. Morarity, 94, of Metamora, IL, formerly of LaMonte, MO passed away and went to be with the Lord at 6:03 am on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Snyder Village. She was born on July 5, 1921 in Metamora, IL to John and Gertrude (Chilly) DuBois. She married Steve Morarity on May 19, 1941 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Metamora. He died on August 25, 1997. Surviving are two daughters Peg (Carl) Heinz and Linda Schupp both of Metamora; six grandchildren Calista (Casey) Kelly of East Peoria, Vincent (Adnybel) Heinz of Lake Barrington, IL, Duane (Sandra) Schupp of Tonica, IL, Theresa (Mike) Nordbusch of Strongville, OH, Angela (Mike) Ealey and Carolyn (Erik) Hackett both of Metamora; twelve great-grandchildren, Declan and Aislin Kelley, Lucas Heinz, Dominique and Demetrius Schupp, Kirk and Rachel Nordbusch, Mitchell and Quinton Ealey, and Arianna, Dietrich, and Kiara Hackett. She was preceded in death by son-in-law Jim Schupp, five brothers, and one sister. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Metamora and St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she was a past Chaplain. She was the 2011 Rosary Maker of the Year, making 2 to 3 thousand rosaries per year which are then given out world-wide. Her picture was used in medical advertisements across the nation. She loved to play cards with the family and being a farmer's wife. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Metamora with Father Greg Jozefiak and Father John Verrier officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Metamora.
