Dorothy A. Beschorner, 97 of Washington, Illinois formerly of Washburn, Illinois died October 21, 2013 at Supportive Living of Washington where she had been a resident since 2010. Born October 7, 1916 in Marshall County, Illinois to Clifford and Ethel (Dewalt) Retter, she married John R. Beschorner May 25, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1985. She was preceded in death by her sisters Anabel Seggerman and Louise Miller. Surviving are one son, Gary (Kaye) Beschorner of Washington, and 5 grandchildren: Aundrea (Doug) Kinas of Washington, Dawn (Paul) Mauschbaugh of Washington, Tiffany Beschorner of Peoria, Kim (Scott) Flanders of Washington, Curt Reynolds of Washington, 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 nieces and several great nieces and nephews. A graduate of LaRose High School in 1934, Dorothy worked as a clerk at Washburn Grocery Store and at the Washburn Vanity Store. Served for many years in Washburn as a Election Board Judge, loved to go bowling and cleaning her home. She loved her grandchildren and was a member of Washburn Christian Church. Funeral services will at 11:00am Friday Oct. 25, 2013 at Washburn Christian Church. Visitation will be from 5pm until 7pm Thursday at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also one hour prior to services at church. Burial will be in Linn Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washburn.
