WASHINGTON?Dorothy M. Attig, 86, died Sunday morning, December 30, 2012 at her home. She was born September 8, 1926 in rural Washington, Tazewell Co., IL, the daughter of John and Nancy (Burroughs) Glabe and married Vernon Attig on November 28, 1946, who survives. Also surviving are one son, David (Sheila) Attig of Washington; daughters, Karen (Robert James) Roy of Ottawa, IL, Diane (Derek) Price of Peoria, IL; one sister, Ruth Cook of Round Rock, TX; one brother, Rev. Wayne (Ann) Glabe of Washington; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Doris Krus and grandson, Jon Bailin. She graduated from Washington Community High School in 1944 and worked for Washington Township, retiring June, 2011. Dorothy was a charter member of Grace Bible Church in Washington, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Adam Kipp officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:45 at the church and burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Missions Fund at Grace Bible Church. We are humbled by her strength and determination. With heavy hearts, we have had to say good-bye. But she has taught us to be joyful and confident of our reunion in the Lord?s perfect time.
