Doris Eleise Polk, 89, of Peoria Heights, IL, formerly of East Peoria, IL passed away at 6:08 pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Cornerstone Rehab and Health Care Center in Peoria Heights, IL.  She was born on June 22, 1929 in Harrisburg, Arkansas to James Isaac and Francis Erlene (Haley) Denton.  She married James D. "Jim" Polk on March 19, 1994 in East Peoria, IL.  He passed away on March 1, 2015.

Surviving are children Maria (Denny) Gardner and Terry (Lynda) Bolton both of East Peoria, Karen (Gary) Willms of Peoria Heights, David (Virginia) Orr of East Peoria, and Rick (Tina) Orr of Highland, IL; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son Kenny Bolton, grandson Lawrence Havel, two sisters, and one brother.

Doris had been a dietician/cook for the OSF Motherhouse and Wernsman's Restaurant both in Germantown Hills.  She was a member of Averyville Baptist Church in East Peoria.  Doris enjoyed painting, flower gardening, camping, and fishing.  Her kids and family were her life!

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Pastor David Coyle officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, June 29, 2018 and also one hour prior to her service on Saturday both at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Cornerstone Rehab and Health Care Center, 5533 North Galena Road, Peoria Heights, IL 61616.   Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
