Doris E. Karcher, 95, of Washington passed away at 7:57am, Monday, May 6, 2019 at her residence.

She was born February 27, 1924 in McLeansboro, IL the daughter of Joseph and Olivia Kaufman Frey. She married Lawrence A. Karcher on May 29, 1947, in Piopolis, IL. He passed away on February 8, 2011. Two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children Mary (Jim) Kerrigan of East Peoria, Don Karcher of Washington, Diane (Kevin) Weber of Washington and Larry (Joni) Karcher of Morton. Further surviving are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Thursday, May 9, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Father Thaddeus B.K. Tran will officiate. Visitation will be one-hour prior to her service also at the church. Burial will follow her Mass at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to VITAS Hospice, 5019 Executive Drive, Peoria, IL 61614.
