Doris J. Dingledine

Doris J. Dingledine age 90 of Washington, Illinois passed away at 7:15 pm Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Grand Victorian of Washington where she was a resident. She was born September 4, 1923 in Eureka, IL to Donald D. and Agnes B. (Kirby) Dorward. She married Eugene W. Dingledine on August 1, 1943 in Washington, IL. He passed away in 2001. Surviving are her children Don (Diana) Dingledine of East Peoria, IL, Linda Gabel of Ft. Collins, CO, Edward Dingledine of Durango, CO and Jon (Jerri) Dingledine of Holly Springs, NC; 8 grandchildren Christine (Jason) Winchester of LaGrange, IL, Jason (Jen) Wurster of St. Joseph, MI, Jeremy Ellwood of Peoria Heights, IL, Amelia Gabel of Bozeman, MT, Christopher Dingledine and Joseph Dingledine, both of Littleton, CO and Mason Dingledine and Bailey Dingledine, both of Holly Springs, NC and 8 great-granddaughters. She is also survived by a sister, Barbara (Ronald) Hammond of Bellevue, WA. One grandson, Nathan Gabel and one brother, Donald Dorward preceded her in death. Doris was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church, Washington, IL where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She worked alongside her husband with their business, Del Construction in Washington. She was also past president of Washington Garden Club. She was an avid bridge player, loved to entertain and host dinners and bridge groups and was an excellent cook. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Mason White Funeral Home, Washington with Reverend Robert DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Washington.
