Doretta M. Schupp, 88, of Metamora, passed away at 3:45 am on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Synder Village, Metamora. She was born on February 28, 1926 in Washington, Illinois to Charles and Pearl (DuBois) Seckler. She married Lester W. Schupp on October 11, 1947 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Metamora. He died on October 25, 1982. Surviving are her children, Steven (Terry) Schupp of Morton, Terry (Joyce) Schupp of Washington, Joyce (Doug) Herring of Metamora, and Jan Lynch of Twin Falls, Idaho; grandchildren, Megan (Greg) McCarthy, Kate (Drew) Parker, Brian (Rachel) Schupp, Natalie (Landon) Carr, Nicole Schupp, Danielle (Kyle) Albertson, Jeff Herring, Jamie Herring, and Ryan Herring; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Roland "Sonny" Seckler; one sister, Edna "Tootie" Lange; and two grandchildren. Doretta was a cook for St. Mary?s Grade School for 25 years and was a life-long member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Metamora. She enjoyed baking and cooking, and spending time with her family especially going to her grandchildren?s sporting events. She also enjoyed being on her porch sharing her smile and laughter with neighbors and friends that passed by. The family would like to thank the staffs of Snyder Village and Methodist Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion and to Reverend Robert DeBolt for his special visits. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:30 am at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, Metamora with Father Neri Greskoviak officiating and with visitation prior from 9:00 am till 11:00 am at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary?s School or Snyder Village. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com
