Dorcas I Tannhauser

Dorcas I Tannhauser, 90, of Washington passed away at 7:35pm, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria. She was born on June 24, 1926 in Irving, IL the daughter of Joseph and Lila Everett Crigler. Surviving are her children Lila (Richard) Chaplin of Pana, IL; Terry (Debbie) Soncek of Daytona Beach, FL; Gary Soncek of North Pekin, IL; Carol (Glenn) Harkins of East Peoria, IL; Patrica Harsh of Washington, IL; Jay (Sally) Walker of Spanish Fork, UT and Charles (Carol) Tannhauser of North Pekin, IL. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son Herbie Jett, son David Soncek, and one infant brother and two sisters. Being like Dorcas in the Bible, she loved to sew. She also enjoyed cooking for family, friends and neighbors. Dorcas was a very giving person and helped anyone in need. Her everlasting wish is for friends and family to "accept Jesus as your savior, and know he will wash your sins away. We are waiting here to greet you, when you join us here one day". We are happy to know she is resting in his arms. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00pm Friday, October 28, 2016 at Tremont Baptist Church in Tremont, IL. for her family and close friends. There will be no visitation.
