Donna Jean Frank, 67, of Ashby, Minnesota, died Friday, February 14, 2014, at the Douglas County Hospital, Alexandria, Minnesota. She was born on April 19, 1946, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Archie Verl and Irma Irene (Miller) Cape. Donna Jean grew up in Washington, Illinois, where she attended high school. She married Charles Edward Frank on April 4, 1964 in Washington, IL, and they were blessed with two sons: David Ryan and Joseph Edward. Donna Jean and Charles lived in Bellevue, IL from 1971-1992. After raising her children, Donna Jean worked as a legal secretary in Peoria, IL for twelve years. In 1993, Donna Jean and Charles moved to Ashby, Minnesota, where they purchased the Ashby Resort and Campground. They operated the resort until 1999, at which time Donna Jean went to work for Tastefully Simple in Alexandria, Minnesota, where she continued to work. Donna Jean enjoyed trips to the casino, and time spent on Pelican Lake. Most important, was time spent with her family, especially her granddaughter, Briana Renae. Donna Jean was a member of Destiny Church in Ashby. She is survived by her husband, Charles of Ashby, MN; a son, David Frank of Peoria, IL; granddaughter, Briana Frank of Manteno, IL; and a brother, Archie (Etta Mae) Cape Jr. of Washington, IL. In addition to her parents, Donna Jean was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Edward Frank and one sister, Sharon Cape. Funeral Service: 5 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Destiny Church, 27871 140th Avenue, Ashby, MN. There will be an additional service for Donna Jean held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, Illinois with Pastor Norvin Condy officiating.
