Donald F. Wyzlic, Sr

Donald F. Wyzlic, Sr., 88, of Spring Bay passed away at 4:45 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Unity Point Health-Proctor in Peoria. He was born on July 28, 1927 in Peoria the son of Joseph and Martha Wyzlic. He married Rosemary Martin on May 24, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV. Surviving are his wife of Spring Bay; three sons Donald F. Wyzlic, Jr. of Peoria, Dennis (Pat) Wyzlic of Deer Creek and Dave (Kim Schmeilski) Wyzlic of Germantown Hills; and one daughter Debra Gilliatt of East Peoria. Further surviving are five grandchildren Abigail and Joe Wyzlic, Rick, Chandler and Erin Gilliatt; and one sister Delores Cassidy of Peoria. His granddaughter Tracy Gilliatt and great-grandson Leo Wyzlic preceded him in death. Don was a proud member of Steamfitters Local 353 in Peoria for 65 years. He attended St. Ann's Catholic Church in Peoria. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. He also enjoyed many other outdoor activities. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He and Rosemary spent many enjoyable winters in St. Petersburg, FL. He never met a stranger; Don was a storyteller who never left out a detail. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 16, 2015 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service. Burial will immediately follow in Brimfield Township Cemetery in rural Brimfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Midwest Affiliate.
