Donald D. Sweet, Jr

Donald D. Sweet, Jr., 56, of East Peoria, IL passed away at 11:35 am on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born on December 14, 1959 in Peoria, IL to Donald D. and Jean C. (Marfell) Sweet, Sr. Surviving are his children Donald D. (Bobbie) Sweet III of Washington and Deanna (Gerry) Horton of East Peoria; grandchildren Alivia Sweet, Baylee Parrott, and Sophia Horton; siblings Debbie (James) Plemmons of Bayview Gardens, Larry Sweet of Lexington, IL, and Gary (Susan) Sweet of Washington; and many nieces and nephews. Donald graduated from Metamora Township High School in 1978. He worked for Komatsu as an assembler for 28 years. He was an avid Cubs fan. He enjoyed riding Harley motorcycles, playing softball, bowling, and camping. He was a loving father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and especially his granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 14, 2016 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel in Germantown Hills with Pastor John Rothfusz officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to his service on Friday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded after the service. Interment of ashes will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
