Donald L. Sniff

Donald L. Sniff, 79, of Metamora passed away at 10:30am Thursday March 28, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on April 18, 1933 in Canton the son of Harold and Bernita Hobbs Sniff. He married Colette A. Bachman on May 5, 1956 in Metamora. Surviving is his wife and their four children Annette (Fred) Schramm of St. Charles, IL; Janet (Marc) Reindell of Queen Creek AZ; Vicki (Mike) Parr and Mike Sniff both of Metamora. His 11 angels, and three great grandchildren also survive him. Don?s parents and one daughter Laurie Sniff preceded him in death. A US Army Korean Conflict Veteran. He worked for Western Electric in Peoria, later becoming Lucent Technologies, retiring in 1986 after 30 years. He was co-owner of D&M Hypnosis Center in Metamora for many years. Don was a member of the American Legion Post 89 in Metamora, Mason Hilton Lodge 1143 AF & AM in East Peoria where he served as past master, Mohammed Shrine Temple in Peoria, serving as past Captain of the Mohammed Shrine Legion of Honor Color Guard, Scottish Rite Bodies-Valley of Peoria, and Woodford County Chapter of the Izaac Walton League. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will be Monday April 1, 2013 from 4pm until 6pm with a Memorial Service at 6pm all at Mason Funeral Home, Metamora. The Rev. Mike Hurn will officiate. Military Rites will immediately follow his service. Memorials in his name may be given to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or Peoria Rescue Mission.
