Donald D. Schertz 85

Surviving are four children Kathleen (Jimmy) Hamilton of Tupelo, MS., Don (Cindy) Schertz of Carrollton, VA., Ron (Cheryl) Schertz of Cranston, R.I. and Dick (Carol) Schertz of Metamora. Donald is also survived by seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers Floyd, Robert, and Russell Schertz. Donald worked at Washington Co-op and Dewey Grain co-operatives; last working at Dreyfus Industries in Chillicothe retiring in 1990. Member of Metamora Mennonite Church where he was an Elder of the church, Sunday School Teacher, and Superintendent of Sunday School. He was very active in various committees at the church. Don lived a Godly life of faith and love and provided an excellent example for his children and grandchildren. Services will be at 10:00am Thursday Jan. 6, 2011 at Metamora Mennonite Church with the Reverend Mike Danner officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4pm until 7pm at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel, and also one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.
