Mitch began his professional journey at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., where he honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of the business. He then moved on to Tony & Sons Complete Automotive Care Tire Pros in East Peoria, where his expertise and work ethic were highly valued. His tenure at John Bearce Tire Center and Gary Uftring Used Car Outlet further solidified his reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable professional.
In the later part of his career, Mitch became a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating Mitch's Tyre and Alignment in Washington. His business served the community with high-quality services and provided employment opportunities, reflecting his generosity.
Mitch dedicated nearly two decades to the Washington Central School Board, where his commitment and hard work were widely recognized. His dedication extended beyond the boardroom, as he spent 20 years as a beloved bus driver. In this role, he was not just a driver but a friend and mentor to countless students. His competitive spirit shone brightly in his later years when he became the #1 go-kart driver in his age bracket, a testament to his vivacious spirit and zest for life.
Mitch's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. He was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears, following their games with an infectious enthusiasm. His love for country music, especially the legendary Johnny Cash, was well-known among his friends and family. His collection of model trains and cars was a sight to behold, each piece a testament to his meticulous nature and eye for detail.
His love for NASCAR was not just limited to watching the races. He also enjoyed collecting NASCAR items, turning his passion into a tangible collection he loved sharing with others. His interests were not solitary hobbies but ways he connected with those around him, sharing his passions and creating lasting memories.
However, above all his interests and hobbies, Mitch's greatest joy was his family. He was a man who found happiness in the happiness of his loved ones, and he enjoyed anything his family was involved in.
