Donald L. Moore

Donald "Don" Lee Moore, 79, of East Peoria formally of Morton, passed away December 22, 2017 surrounded by family in McAllen, Texas.

He was born March 5, 1938 in Havana, Illinois, to Frank and Bertha Belle Edlin Moore.

He is survived by his two sons, Joel (wife Susan) and Daniel; his granddaughter Morgan Moore; two nieces, Melissa Seitz and Linda Rich; sister-in-law Della Moore; and former spouse Joan (William). He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wilmer and William and sisters Alice Black, Irma Hough and Lucille Klinedinst.

Don was born the youngest of six children in a two room house with no electricity. He passed away golfing and driving a corvette at his winter home in Texas. A lifelong Illinois resident, Don graduated from East Peoria High School and served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963, stationed in Germany before returning to raise a family. He was proud of his career as a sheet metal worker, being a 10+ gallon blood donor, and a past master of the Frank Nicol Masonic Lodge He was an accomplished stained glass artist, who enjoyed boating, bowling, and home improvement projects.

Don had a wonderful life filled with adventure, good friends and a loving family. He approached everything with a good-natured spirit and was always there to help a friend and support his family. He was a great dad.

Cremation has been accorded and visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Quail Meadows Golf Club, 2215 Centennial Dr, Washington, IL 61571.
