Donald "Charlie" Harmon, 75, of Metamora, Illinois passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at his residence. He was born on May 27, 1939 in Woodford County, Illinois to Wilbur and Goldie (Johnson) Harmon. He married Sally Boehne in April, 1972. He then married Dorothy Collins in 1994. They were married for 20 years and she survives. Also surviving are children Don (Nancy) Harmon of Ohio, Charlie (Lorrie) Harmon of East Peoria, Kathy (Jeremy) Hardin of Kentucky, Chris (Michelle) Harmon of Utica, IL and Kim (Jim) Neirynck of Neponset, IL; step-children Gus Collins, Rocky Collins and Rita Jeffery all of Ohio, Todd Collins and Dan Collins both of Florida, Bill Collins of Indiana and Elizabeth Wall of South Pekin; thirty-six grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; brother Joe (Dave Fox) Harmon of Wyoming; and sister Mary Clifton of Pekin. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Kelly Harmon and Donna Girton, step-son Ben Collins, and sister Lillian Holmes. Charlie owned and operated Harmon Auto Parts. Charlie Harmon never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone for hours. He had the ability to see value and good in everything and everyone. Charlie was a well known fixture at the race tracks. Junking cars and racing were two of Charlie?s greatest passions. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11:00 am at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lacon City Cemetery, Lacon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Spring Bay Legion Post #1115. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
