Dolly Duncan

February 14, 1923 — June 27, 2020

Dolly Duncan, 97, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020, at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Eureka, IL, with family by her side.

Dolly was born on February 14, 1923. Dolly married Oliver Yoder in 1943 until his death in 1972. She later remarried Don Duncan until his death in 1994.

Surviving are two sons, Don Yoder and Larry Yoder, five grandsons Jim (Leigh Anna) Yoder, Ed Yoder, Mark Yoder, Todd (Jennie) Yoder and Chris (Lauren) Yoder; three granddaughters Tina Jeter, Tammy (Eric) Markham and Tanya (Bart) Bettorf. Also surviving are 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

After retiring from Carson Pirie Scott as a Manager, she was an avid traveler with her sister Irma. They explored Europe together, creating years' worth of memories and stories. Dolly was a great bowler and spent 50 years in the same bowling league with the same team. She even made the Bowling Hall of Fame. She also loved playing cards, arts and crafts, sewing and altering clothes, playing the piano and singing, and telling stories of her life. Her love for her family was her true passion. She adored her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Having a family function was her favorite thing to do. Hair done, makeup and pearls on, big smile telling her stories surrounded by family was second to none. She will be dearly missed.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 12 noon at Mason-White Funeral Home, Washington, IL. Pastor Wayne Glabe will officiate.
