Diane L Zoss

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane L. Zoss, age 71 of Metamora, IL who died peacefully on May 29th, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Born on June 18th 1953 in Peoria, IL. Diane lived a life full of love, kindness, and quiet strength. She was the beloved daughter of Vryl and Mary Gronewald and grew up in Low Point-Washburn, graduating from Low Point-Washburn High School and Illinois Central College with her LPN certification.

Diane dedicated her life to caring for people first as a nurse at Eureka hospital and Roanoke nursing home then as a stay at home mom to her two children. Outside of work, she enjoyed spending time at their lake house, making Christmas candy, and making baby quilts for all her friends' grandchildren.

Above all, Diane cherished her family. She was a devoted spouse, a loving parent/ grandparent, and loyal friend. Even as Alzheimer's gradually took her memory, it never diminished the light in her eyes or the love she shared with those around her.

Diane is survived by her husband Robin Zoss. Her children Jennifer (Kevin) Espinosa and Christopher Zoss, three grandchildren, and her brother Robert Gronewald. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service to celebrate Diane's life will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Linn Mt Vernon cemetery in Washburn IL with Rev. Robert DeBolt officiating. A luncheon to follow at Christian Union church in Metamora. In honor of her memory, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
